This week’s #TeamTaylorMadeCA spotlights Golf Ontario’s Head Coach Reggie Millage.

In all likelihood you’ve heard the name Reggie Millage in the past 30 years.

His sporting resume is as lengthy as the day is long; but impressive wins as a junior, college player and as a professional. He’s played on provincial, national and collegiate teams and was inducted into the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

And as good as he is a player, it’s his current role as head coach for Golf Ontario’s provincial team that he might be most known for.

Millage has been part of the #TeamTaylorMadeCA family for the past decade and says being able to work the brand and the province’s best players is a dream.

“The TaylorMade team here in Canada has been committed to supporting our country’s best golfers and now as a coach I am happy to play a small role in helping them do just that,” Millage says. “I’m very fortunate to have one of the best jobs in the golf industry where I’m in the unique position of being able to support these talented athletes along their journey in this great game.”

With a focus on the team’s vision, mission and values aimed at inspiring lifelong excellence, Millage’s role is to help team members grow as golfers while also instilling habits leading to success throughout life. Basically, he’s trying to mold the juniors with a vision of himself—a lifelong model citizen in the golf world.

“I understand how challenging this sport can be and I know what it takes to be successful,” Millage admits. “Team Ontario is really all about preparing our players for life beyond junior golf.”

This year’s Team Ontario—which TaylorMade is the official equipment provider for—features 14 junior-aged players from across the country. Some will graduate to college in the next season, opening the door for others to take a spot on the team. Millage has some sage words for those looking to take that next step in his or her progression as a player.

“My best advice to junior golfers out there that aspire to play at the highest level is to love the struggle,” Millage says. “The most accomplished golfers I know absolutely love the game and they loved to put in the work,” he says, adding, “do something every day to get better and enjoy the work whether you are the best now or just getting started.”

Like many of his Team Ontario players, Millage features a full bag of TaylorMade product.

“The TaylorMade SIM driver is ridiculous and it’s under a lot of different head covers out there this year,” Millage says. “Also as a player and coach, I know how important the one piece of equipment we use on every shot is—and that’s the golf ball”, he says, adding, “the TP5x is so good and I play it because I think it is the best out there.”

Millage is member of the #TeamTaylorMadeCA stable of PGA of Canada coaches and teachers.
